Since I moved to Texas I have made the trip to my family home in Oklahoma City hundreds of times. There is often an eye-popping cloud/sky/light display to blow my mind while driving. Sometimes it's a breathtaking sunset.
This is an engraving using aquatint with soap ground on a copper plate. The size is 4 ½"H X 12"W. See more engravings Aquatint with Soap Ground resist - an experiment. Sometimes the calculated and planned ideas are disappointing. This image started as an experiment. I was trying out a new resist made of ivory soap. I had no expectations for a good result, and was pleasantly surprised.
My take away? At least at this point printmaking is a crap shoot; and a mystery. |
