A teacher at Brookhaven suggested I try "carving" a woodblock with the laser router. So Monday morning, I learned how to do this from a vector file. I already had a drawing I thought would be fun, and converted it to an adobe illustrator file. Then I turned on the laser. (I can't not think of Doctor Evil as I say that.) It made kind of a whooshing sound as it booted up, and for the rest of the day the room smelled like a campfire. Yesterday, I printed it.
