That's what Don Taylor, printmaking teacher at Brookhaven, suggested when I was stumped about what to do next. Lines and shapes are what I notice everyday... everywhere. Slim grass shoots from bamboo cuttings and red bud leaves.
Printmaking at Brookhaven has been a lot of fun; and Holy Cow! Surprises around every turn. Nothing turns out as you think it will. It's a real "Mr Toad's Wild Ride" of a discipline. Have I made clear it's unpredictable? And yet... I'm strangely attracted to the process! .
This 6"H X 6"W work is printed in the relief method with chine-collé process used to add the golden bubbles and the cartoon bird..
Home of 2 great state universities, Oklahome University, in Norman.
